despite our best efforts, we do keep accumulating the dreaded plastic bags. we try to bring our own shopping bags with us when we go out with intentions of making a purchase, but they keep on piling up, the plastic devils.

a couple of years ago, i got interested in using plastic bags to knit. i learned how to make the “yarn” by cutting the bags in various tricky ways, but i never did make anything. i was probably doomed to failure because i chose the most difficult way of making the yarn in one long continuous piece from each bag. it was very time consuming, and the strips really weren’t all that strong. this time, i am using the loop method, which is really quick and easy. i’ve already got an enormous ball of yarn, and i’ve only used about 40 bags (it’s made only a small dent in the pile).
